Merry Christmas!

Just a quick little post today to say Merry Christmas to all our followers and thank you so much for reading our blog over the past year!

Christmas Eve was such a busy day (as normal!) spent getting ready for the big event today! Connie loved nipping out for a quick look around the shops and then waiting for the guests to arrive at night. We had family and friends over for a few festive drinks to start the celebrations properly and as usual Connie loved it!

Before bed, Connie put out a mince pie and sherry for Father Christmas and a couple of carrots for Rudolph. She was very excited to lay out the stockings for everyone, spread the reindeer dust in the back garden (so Father Christmas knew where to park his sleigh) and put the key on the front door ( we don’t have a chimney so we have to put a special key out for him to let himself in!).

As I type this, I am waiting for Connie to get up so we can go down and see if Father Christmas has been. Probably one of the best things about Christmas with Connie is that it is so magical and it always will be! She loves Christmas and after a hard year we are all looking forward to celebrating it properly with her and loved ones and remembering the ones who are no longer with us. Later on we will be most definitely be raising a toast to Grandad Vince, who loved a party, and Nana June – the Queen of Christmas who we lost earlier this year. Hope you are both having a magical Christmas wherever the both of you are!

Merry Christmas everyone …. now hurry up Connie and wake up!!

  1. I think it’s awesome that you go all out, for Christmas; where you live. I have never heard of “Reindeer Dust” except maybe in movies.
So, I guess there is an advantage to Connie’s disability. She will never lose the magic and joy of the holidays.
There is a special place waiting for her in the end. I’ve no doubt.
    Merry Christmas
